Unpacking Colonizations: Stories, Bodies & Places

Événement

Colonization is often told through dates, events, and political histories. But what happens when we shift the focus to the stories, bodies, places, and futures shaped by colonialism? This community dialogue brings forward the lived experiences of people navigating the coloniality-migration matrix. Together, we will explore not only histories of oppression but also… resistance, memory, belonging, displacement, and the futures people imagine and create. Moving beyond narratives of factuality, the conversation invites space for embodied knowledge, personal stories, and the geopolitical grief experienced both globally and in our local communities. Come listen, share, reflect, and imagine what becomes possible when these voices move to the center. Questions? Ask: neslihan.sriram@concordia.ca or jayanthan.sriram@concordia.ca --- This event is offered as part of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance 's EmpowerGrad programming in collaboration with Resisting Colonizations .

CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
