The Seven Shades of Resistance

Événement

Resistance is often understood through visible acts of opposition, refusal, or confrontation. Yet it can also emerge through relationships, care, solidarity, responsibility, and the everyday negotiation of power. The Seven Shades of Resistance invites a collective exploration of the relational dimensions of resistance: how it is shaped through our relationships with one another, communities, histories, and systems of power. The conversation will ask whose actions are recognized as resistance, whose remain unseen, and who holds the power to name resistance in the first place. It will also engage with the tensions and contradictions that arise when resistance is understood not only through what we stand against, but through the relationships we sustain, the responsibilities we carry, and the possibilities we create together. How can you participate? Join us in person or online by registering for the Zoom Meeting or watching live on YouTube . Have questions? CULTURE MONTRÉAL EN CARTE

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
