By Ivan Viripaiev Facilitated by Robert Reid Dec 2 Preview 8PM Dec 3 Performance #1 8PM Dec 4 Performance #2 8PM Dec 5 Performance #3 2PM Using Ivan Viripaev’s UFO as its central material, this workshop-performance explores acting through etudes and exercises the notion of “character” approached not by searching for oneself in the character but searching for the character within oneself. This work will be a showing of etudes and scenes, offering not a finished production but a visible trace of that search – for truth within both given and invented circumstance.

About this map

Montréal has a rich cultural offering, but information is scattered across websites, social networks, noticeboards and posters. Getting an overview can be difficult. Montréal en culture aims to simplify discovery by bringing cultural activities together in all their variety. The project is also inspired, with some nostalgia, by the weekly calendar of the cultural magazine View, which featured a varied offering, from shows to talks and from popular events to more unconventional activities. Adding a map, Montréal en culture invites you to explore that richness across the city. Still a prototype, this independent project aims to become an essential reference for cultural outings in Montréal.

The site was originally designed for desktop use. A mobile interface is now available.

A broad understanding of culture

The directory takes a broad view of culture: artistic creation, presentation, heritage, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for discovery or participation. It covers the Montréal urban agglomeration, including its associated islands. Its scope develops with the sources and activities recorded.
